Me llamo Mariana Pérez.
Nací el 22 de diciembre del 2003 y viví en la Ciudad de México hasta los dieciocho años, cuando me mudé a Canadá para estudiar filosofía y letras en la Universidad de Columbia Británica.
Durante muchos años, leer y escribir ha sido mi manera de entenderme a mi misma y a mis alrededores, de hacer sentido de un mundo casi insoportablemente cambiante.
Tengo una fuerte predilección por escribir sobre cuestiones sociales, políticas, filosóficas y culturales. Soy fiel creyente que un buen artista no puede mantenerse indiferente al mundo.
Además de la literatura, mis otros intereses incluyen las artes visuales, la musica, la historia, la naturaleza y el deporte.
Creo en la gran importancia del arte en la supervivencia del alma y en usarlo para sembrar y cosechar esperanza. Es por eso que he creado un lugar más donde el arte nos pueda salvar, donde podamos observar al mundo y quererlo en toda su complejidad- un lugar donde podamos permanecer severamente humanos.

My name is Mariana Pérez.
I was born on December 22nd, 2003, and lived in Mexico City until I was eighteen, when I moved to Canada to study philosophy and creative writing at the University of British Columbia.
For many years now, reading and writing have been how I understand myself and my surroundings, the way I make sense of an almost unbearably changing world.
I have a strong predilection to write about social, political, philosophical, and cultural matters. I am a firm believer that to be a good artist, one cannot remain indifferent to the world.
Apart from literature, my other interests include visual arts, music, history, nature, and sports.
I believe in the great importance of art in keeping our souls alive and in using it to sow and harvest hope. That is why I have created another place where art can save us, where we can observe the world and love it in all its complexity—a place where we can remain severely human.
